AgriHerd Technologies (Pty) Ltd gives new users a 30-day free trial to AgriHerd so they can test the system before committing to a monthly subscription. No card is needed to start. During the trial, users can explore the main livestock management features.
Create an account on the website or in the iOS or Android app, then tap the link in your verification email. You are asked one question — what do you farm (beef or dairy cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, game or other) — and AgriHerd creates your farm, a first camp and a herd for each animal type. Add your first animal with just a tag number. Company name, extra farms and camps, and billing or VAT details can be added later with the Company setup wizard.
AgriHerd is designed for goats, sheep, cattle, buffalo, pigs, horses and other livestock operations. The platform includes configurable herd types and gestation periods, plus breed, age class and LSU fields that work from herd type, sex and date of birth.
Yes. AgriHerd supports multiple herds across farms and camps. Unlimited herds are included with any module — there is no per-herd billing.
There is no base plan. Each module — Herd Management & Breeding or Feedlot — is R250 per month and includes 250 animals with unlimited herds. Take both for R500 per month, billed as one payment. Extra animals are added in 250-animal bundles.
Yes. AgriHerd animal records include RFID tag fields and tag colour, and the iOS and Android apps support on-device ear tag scanning. Yard work in the apps connects to a Bluetooth (HID) EID stick reader so you can weigh and treat animals in the crush, assign RFID tags to untagged animals, or update existing tags. The next unused visual ear tag is suggested when you add an animal or record a birth.
Yes. Animals can have an on-farm dam and sire, or an off-farm dam or sire recorded by ID or tag — for bought animals and for farm-born animals sired by a bull that is not in your herd. Those outside parents are kept in a company registry for reuse; they are not added to the herd and do not count toward your animal limit. The Animal Detail Report shows a 5-generation pedigree.
Yes. AgriHerd includes breeding event tracking, pregnancy status, expected due dates, birth records, offspring counts, stillbirths, hand-raised animals and orphaned offspring. Breeding work shows lanes such as Ready to re-cover (dry open females) and lets you update many covers at once or record weaning. The calving / lambing interval report lists the days between each birth per female and flags intervals over the herd threshold. Keep / Cull scores animals as keep, watch or cull with a herd plan; Mark cull or Mark sell sends animals into the Sale Pipeline. Breeding IQ shows lifetime production scores and herd percentiles. Dame profitability compares known dam costs (purchase, treatments, allocated expenses) to offspring and own sales contribution.
Yes. AgriHerd supports gestation date calculations based on breeding dates and herd type. Default gestation periods can be used for common livestock species, with custom periods for other species.
Yes. AgriHerd lets users record treatments, vaccines, medications and administered products with next due dates and overdue reminders. The treatments list shows outstanding items across all accessible herds, with filters for farm, herd, feedlot unit and pen. Bulk complete due lets you record the same treatment for many animals at once.
AgriHerd includes a product register for vaccines, parasite products, medication and supplements, including batch numbers, expiry dates, storage locations, active ingredients and withdrawal periods. Products are managed at company level under the Treatments module.
Yes. AgriHerd uses a Farm → Camp → optional Section hierarchy so you can place herds where they graze, set LSU capacity on camps and sections, and review stocking against capacity. Stocking graphs compare stocked LSU with design capacity and an effective capacity adjusted for season (veld type) and the rainfall you log.
Yes. Feed plans let you record a bag of lick or finishing feed (kg and invoice cost) and schedule daily kg over a date range for a herd, farm, camp, section or individual animal. Each applied day adds its cost to the animals, so it shows in animal total cost and Dame profitability. Due feed-plan days appear on the dashboard Action Center.
Yes. AgriHerd includes herd movement and rotation between camps (and optional sections), with camp rest-day targets and movement history to support grazing management.
Tasks are location-linked follow-ups for a farm, camp, section, feedlot pen or animal. Assign them to Everyone (open pool) or to specific people — including several assignees at once. Workers mark items done in the field; managers verify completed work. Mobile apps sync Tasks offline when signal is patchy.
Yes. 41 structured farm reports — 36 core reports for breeding, calving intervals, health, stocking and rainfall, weight projection, employees, cost allocation, sales, finance and herd valuation, plus 5 feedlot reports with the feedlot add-on. Filter by date, export CSV and print or download PDF copies. Recent additions include the calving / lambing interval report, a 5-generation pedigree on the Animal Detail Report, stocking graphs with season and rainfall, Keep / Cull, Breeding IQ and Dame profitability.
Yes. The weight projection report estimates future weights from each animal’s own growth history, falling back to herd averages by sex and age band. The stocking report compares camp and section LSU capacity with animals currently stocked, using animal LSU values. The Animals to Wean report lists young stock approaching herd weaning age.
No. You choose at least one module — Herd Management & Breeding or Feedlot — when signing up, and each includes core AgriHerd access with 250 animals. Choose both if you run breeding herds and a finishing feedlot.

Yes. The Feedlot module is R250 per month and includes 250 animals. It covers lots, pens, rations, daily intake, re-weighs, ADG tracking and five feedlot reports — performance, pen occupancy, feed delivery, feed inventory and lot profitability. You can choose feedlot on its own or together with the breeding module.
Yes. AgriHerd includes farm expense tracking with categories and recurring costs, plus allocation to herd, farm, camp or animal. Dedicated financial reports cover income, sales, expenses, cost allocation, profit & loss, purchases, receivables, herd valuation and a finance dashboard. Animal profiles show total cost including purchase, treatments and allocated shared expenses.
Yes. AgriHerd has iOS and Android apps with offline sync, tablet layouts, on-device ear tag scanning, Bluetooth RFID reader Yard work, a sortable animal list and Tasks. You can record treatments, weights, births, breeding events and location follow-ups in the field and sync when connectivity returns.
Yes. The iOS and Android apps store animal, breeding, treatment, weight and task records on the device and sync when signal returns. The office dashboard is used in a browser when you are connected.
Excel and notebooks can store lists, but they do not calculate gestation, LSU stocking, treatment due dates or weaning worklists, and they do not sync to a phone in the camp. AgriHerd keeps one record per animal so breeding, treatments, weights and costs stay attached, and reports are generated instead of rebuilt by hand.
AgriHerd uses user login, herd permissions, API tokens and subscription access controls to help protect access to farm records.
When the trial expires, users need an active paid subscription to continue adding and managing records. Subscription payment is handled through PayFast. Trial farm data is kept for 90 days after the trial ends so you can still subscribe and restore access; unused trial accounts may then be removed.
